Romney: The Barney of the GOP primary?

"Mitt Romney" "Barney the Dinosaur"

Talk radio host, Randi Rhodes made a hilarious comparison between Barney the Dinosaur and Mitt Romney today.  I almost spit out my drink.  Remember Barney the Purple Dinosaur? He was famed for running around singing, “I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you. Won’t you say I love you too?” Now think about Mitt Romney in Michigan when he froze in front of an audience and went on a rant about how much he loved cars, Michigan, the trees, the lakes, the people, blah blah blah.  He loved EVERYTHING in Michigan shy of a fly on sh-t.  Romney IS Barney. He bounces around state by state trying to convince people that he loves everything about them, so they should love him too. The problem, however, is that voters see him as a fake man putting on a costume. He can dance, he can try to sing (let us not forget his rendition of America the Beautiful) and can try to con his way into convincing you that he loves everything–but at the end of the day, voters don’t trust what’s behind the suit.

Perhaps poor Mittens is finally coming to the conclusion that voters just aren’t that into him–as evidenced by his new tune regarding Michigan. Apparently a top aide to the Romney campaign is now downplaying the need to win.  But wasn’t Mittens set on winning the state he LOVED so much? Time for a new song or time for a new suit?
